Tidewater Tropical Greenhouses, located in historic Gloucester,
Virginia, is owned and operated by the husband-and-wife team of Guy Hayes &
Karen Rogers.
Guy & Karen started the business in 1987, growing mostly tropical houseplants, their favorite. In 1988, the purchase of an old daffodil farm as a new nursery met the needs of their expanding business. This enabled them to grow and offer many more varieties of plants, including cold tolerant palms, bananas, perennials, annuals, trees and shrubs.
The nursery has grown and changed through the years, to include contract growing for local municipalities, landscapers and other retailers. They are open for retail sales March thru December. In January and February Guy & Karen are on summer vacation, and visiting trade shows looking for new plant introductions.
If in the historic triangle (Jamestown/Williamsburg/Yorktown) of Virginia, feel free to stop by and visit them at their nursery in historic Gloucester, Virginia.
